The band was formed out of a regular jam night at the Ocean Lounge. The sessions became hard work, there was no way of knowing who'd turn up. Some nights 10 guitarists and no bassist, others a bassist but no drummer.

Unhappy with the situation, in 2002 Peter and Bobby moved the venue to McGowans and formed the Mid Week Crisis band.

There were a few changes of personnel during the early days but a settled line-up soon emerged and the band set about earning the fine reputation they currently enjoy.
